Fireside Farm is a piece of beautiful farm country land in Te Arai, just south of Mangawhai, New Zealand. Our vision is that Fireside Farm be used for people to get away from a particularly difficult time or circumstance in their life, and live and work with the resident families that call this place home. Both families believe that God has called them to provide this temporary home-away-from-home for people that need Him, love from friends, good food, caring company, and a fresh perspective.
Fireside Farm is currently under development, but each new season brings new infrastructure and our vision to host people on the farm becomes more and more a reality.
Fireside Farm is a place where quite a lot happens. As a working farm, we have your usual activity around the daily upkeep of the farm, as well as the building work - we're always doing something. We plan to have have simple-but-comfortable accommodation for our guests that stay with us from time to time.
Apart from "the usual" tasks around the place, we have other things that make up the daily rhythm of the farm:
- Daily prayer and worship;
- Breakfast, morning/afternoon tea, lunch, and dinners together in the meeting-house;
- retreats;
- Kids camps;
- Individual & couple counseling; and
- Visits to local hikes, beaches, and places.
At Fireside Farm we believe in working together. We believe in partnerships founded on give-and-receive relationships. The old worldly values of things like love, honor, kindness, hope, sincerity, etc. foster friendship and are antidotes for much of the hurt people have experienced. So, we partner with people that serve alongside us, visit us, need us and help us.
